Possessing a PhD in Humor Studies, Shaughnessy's character, Michael McShane will run a workshop and Q&A on jocularity. Also featuring Dave Sawyer, Casey Williamson, Maria Ciampa. William Robert Neck was born in the house his father built on Jekyll Island, GA and has followed the Lord ever since. Every night he puts his slippers under the bed so that he gets down on his knees every morning to thank God for the the good things in life and humbly ask Him to wipe liberals off the face of the earth. Crackers in Bed, featuring Jacey Bokuniewicz and Maitland Lederer, is an engaging two-person long-from improvisational show that highlights how relationships are affected and driven by the precise words that we use. Groaners for Donors creates as many jokes as they can, as fast as they can. Groaners takes inspiration words from the audience and tells jokes with old-timey, vaudevillian flair. It's the comedy show where quantity sometimes matters more than quality - and there's a laugh, or at least a groan every few seconds.

An improvised show about a TV show based on a radio show about real life stories. Join New England's top improvisers for this improvised take on the hit radio and TV show 'This American Life.' Each week a group of improvisers tackle a different theme and weave it into a collection of scenes, stories, and monologues - complete with our own wry host. The theme is decided by the audience, the number of acts is determined by the roll of the dice. Ira Glass would roll over in his grave...if he was dead.

Swartzlander plays really fast long-form improv. Trained at UCB, Magnet, and Second City Theatres this powerhouse delivers fun, action-packed comedy that may just make your head explode. SidViscous! represents the union of some of the sharpest and most warped minds in Manhattan. Made up entirely of house team members from New York City's Peoples Improv Theater, their latest longform, "The Fever Dream," features scenes that weave, wind and bleed together into one continuous, often surreal, stream-of-consciousness progression, before building to an hilarious, frenzied climax.

Micah Sherman / Phil & I
NYC's Phil & I are a longform improv duo that performs smart-yet-silly, often completely absurd longform at breakneck speed. The resulting shows have been compared favorably to vintage vaudeville, the Marx Brothers, and 1940s cartoons. But Phil & I prefer to call it simply, "smargenous," which they believe to be an actual word, the poor dopes. WITH: Micah Sherman, former member of the ImprovAsylum mainstage and host of the Myq and Mike show will be doing 15-20 minutes of stand-up comedy.

MC Mr. Napkins / JoKyR and Jesster
MC Mr. Napkins (a/k/a Zach Sherwin) was recently named Boston's Best Comic of 2009 by the Boston Phoenix, and in July 2009 he performed in the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He has appeared on VH1, CNN Headline News, and the front pages of CollegeHumor and YouTube, and is currently starring in a Web promotion for Sierra Mist. "JoKyR and Jesster" is Joseph Kyle Rogan & Jesse Parent, two of Utah's most prolific improvisers, and veterans of over 30 improv festivals. Together they perform high stake, character driven improv.
Team X / Alderofsky
The Magnet Theater's Team X delivers a fast paced, no holds barred, sometimes raunchy, and always hilarious good time. Bring your friends, and keep your guns out of reach! Alderofsky is a two person improvised show starring Kristen Aldrich (The Tribe, Veal) and Ben Sandofsky (Improv Olympic West's Johnny Astronaut, The Havercamps). Mixing character grounded scenework with subversive humor, the show's structure is discovered on the fly; no two shows are remotely similar.

JAILER is fun and sometimes wacky, but always based on the truth and basic love found in every relationship! Moxie: (1) Vigor, verve, pep. (2) Courage and aggressiveness (3) A NYC-based veteran long-form improv and sketch ensemble that has been taking stages and festivals around the country by storm since 2006. (5) A pretty nasty soda.

BEAT IT - Jay Revis & J*, from The Basement Theatre in Atlanta, starts with an audience suggestion which the duo uses as inspiration for a poem, then that poem serves as inspiration for scenes and characters.

Veal w/ William Mullin
Veal is a musical improv group comprised of hooligans who met at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre. Veal takes the basic structure of long-form improvisation, the Harold, and adds on improvised songs, dance and music. We ask the audience for a suggestion of a location, we explore all aspects of that environment and create music and joy for everyone. Chet Watkins is a resident ensemble based out of the Magnet Theater in NYC formed by improv guru/legend Armando Diaz. They offer up live longform improvised comedy based off of a single suggestion from the audience. Hilarious character driven work, Entertaining scenes, Enriching environments, Smart comedy. Reverse 5 is an improv comedy ensemble that performs a single scene based on a single audience suggestion. The members of Reverse 5 are veterans of improv theaters in Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC and now live, study and perform in New York City.

Bombardo, the all girl improv group based in New York City, has performed at various venues around New York including UCB, The Magnet Theater, Caroline's on Broadway, and are most commonly known for their Friday night improv showcase at Gotham City Improv. Bombardo offers a unique blend of comedy that has been termed "weird," "psychadelic," and "full of cats." The Escapists/Stranger Than Fiction
The Escapists create smart, rambunctious sketch comedy, songs and improv. Shows range from deconstructing ABBA's music to showing the lengths that a truly kickass librarian will go to defened the civil liberties of her patrons. Their gigs include guerrilla theater on the streets of Portland, ME and performing at Capitol Fringe Festival in Washington D.C.. Stranger Than Fiction is dedicated to spreading the art of improv theater and comedy through quality performance and education. Along with shows and workshops around the Granite State and beyond, the cast hosts the annual improv retreat and festival known as Camprov.
BP and the Buj / Cronicas de la Dimension Improvisada
BP and the Buj is a two-person showcase for improv superstars Brian Paul and Chris Bujold. Armed with a bucket of plays they have never read, they perform one selected by the audience. From reading reviews/synopses from the back cover, and descriptions from the character list, BP and the Buj improvise the selected play at breakneck speed, mixing scenes and monologues. Theatre snobs beware. Plus improv from Mexico with ImproTop performing, Cronicas de la Dimension Improvisada, their family-friendly show in both Spanish and English.

Sky Punch infuses long form elements into high-paced short form games. They call it "meat form", mostly because they love sandwiches. Their only goal for each and every performance is to make your brain dance. The Paper Dolls are veterans of the San Francisco improv scene. The IMPers' Animal Farm/The Ha-Ha Sisterhood
The IMPers are the teen professional improv troupe produced by Troubled Shores, Inc. They perform both short and long form scenic based improv on Martha's Vineyard and beyond. This year at the Chicago Improv Festival they created Animal Farm - a day in the life on the farm as experienced by various animals. The Ha-Ha Sisterhood has been cracking up western Massachusetts for the past five years with their rapid-fire, non-stop-laughter short form improv comedy show.

Boston improv heartthrobs Don't Tell Mimi use police reports from the Somerville area to inspire a series of pulse pounding scenes. LivePod Shuffle creates a unique live music and improv show where the audience "shuffles" the band's setlist (a mix of popular music spanning 50 years). Based on each song, the cast performs some of the funniest improvised scenes you can imagine. In the second act, we flip the record over as the cast (with your help) inspire the band to create some "B-sides" you've never heard before...

Bring Your Own Improv (BYOI) is an interactive improv show that welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: Applaud at a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you're ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage!!! Unexpected Company has been named Rhode Island's Best Comedy Troupe by RI Monthly magazine. UC is Rhode Island's most critically acclaimed improvisational comedy troupe, and the only group in the area strictly dedicated to long form improvisation. Described as "Pure Improv" and "Wildly Popular", UC is worth the trip.

ImprovBoston is thrilled to welcome our friends from across the river, Improv Asylum. Their Main Stage cast brings together improvisation and sketch material in front of a live audience. It's all the fun of IA without having to park in the North End.

Joe Bill is widely regarded as one of the best Teachers of Scenic and Comedic Improvisation in America today. Feel lost in a scene? You've doing things "right" but can't find the funny? You're working too hard. This workshop will simplify your scenework, in a good way. Learn the importance of grounding, simple approaches to game, and the importance of finding position. Ben Sandofsky began performing improv in 2000. A graduate of Improv Olympic West and Upright Citizens Brigade LA, he has performed on over a dozen teams, including two IOWest Harold teams. The short film he cowrote and starred in, "Voice Mail," has been screened at a number of film festivals, and won the "Online to on Screen" award at the Jackson Hole Film Festival.
Saving the Environment

How can I do mime and create environment when I have to worry about character, emotion, relationship, and all that other stuff? Good question. But, knowing where you are and how it affects you can actually HELP you ground your character, cement your emotions, and establish relationships. In this class you will learn to use your scenic environment to define your character, provide motivation, and forward the scene. Let the environment save you!
LIFE-PLAY Workshop

Come experience Life-Play - an emotionally engaging, phone-based improv format! Life-Play allows participants to express feelings, explore beliefs, co-create stories and imagine dreams. Players have found it useful for deepening new and old friendships, developing artistic collaborations, writing fiction and crafting performance material. Many sessions are recorded and submitted to create Life-Play radio pieces—to share emotionally honest play with the wider world. Join Life-Play founders Carman Dewees (independent radio producer), David Shepherd (founder of The Compass Players and Improv Olympix) and Chris Britt (independent filmmaker and performer) to learn how to play.
