Come on down to ImprovBoston on Wednesdays in
January where you can see more up and coming troupes!
This month features:
Crackers in Bed, featuring Jacey
Bokuniewicz and Maitland Lederer, is an engaging
two-person show that highlights how relationships are
affected and driven by the precise words that we use.
Provocatively charming and linguistically challenging,
Crackers in Bed appears at ImprovBoston Wednesday nights
at the Hump. Steve Kleinedler directs.
Crackers in Bed will be joined by the
troupe Roadkill Buffet.
For the first Wednesday of every month see The
Naked Comedy Showcase, playing at 10pm following the
Hump shows! After a sold-out debut at ImprovBoston in
August (which included comedians Rev. Tim McIntire and
the Walsh Brothers), comedians are yet again ready to
bare all and make you laugh while doing it (hopefully
only at their jokes of course)! The show is organized
and hosted by Boston comedian and nudist Andy Ofiesh,
who for three years has hosted naked comedy shows
featuring Boston area comics doing stand-up in the nude.
Since its
debut at ImprovBoston, the show played at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival in Scotland to a great response! So
check out The Naked Comedy Showcase, we
bare you!
*The
January 4th show is sold out! Reserve now for the
February 1st show!*
The evening
starts at 8pm. Tickets to see the first two Hump shows
are $5, tickets for The Naked Comedy Showcase are
$10, but $5 for attendees of the first two shows. For
reservations call (617) 576-1253 or go to www.improvboston.com
This month we interview
Kevin Harrington, cast member of UnNatural Selection as
well as creator, actor and director of In The
Garage. Apparently the show was inspired by friends
and teachers Kevin had in high school, and in the case
of his character, the fake ID he had from 7th grade
until he was 21! Let's find out more about this show and
its interesting inspirations as well as more about Kevin
and how it's been being involved with UnNatural
Selection from the beginning!
Quote:
Crush my enemies, drive them
before me, and hear the moaning and lamentations of
their women! (Eyes sword)

Great comedy. Great music. Great Tuesday. The
best bands and the funniest sketch, improv and stand-up
comedians join up every Tuesday night at An Tua Nua [835
Beacon St., near Kenmore Sq.] for two hours of
toe-tapping, knee-slapping entertainment. Doors open at
8pm. Food and drinks are served. Must be 21+. Visit www.braggingtochildren.com for more
information or to perform with us!
Sarah McClean, cast member of the
ImprovBoston Family Show, is now offering affordable
voice lessons out of her private studio in Brookline.
Lessons are taught one-on-one, in a very relaxed setting
and previous singing experience is not required. Lessons
can include anything from an introduction or review of
the basics (posture, breathing, support, tone,
projection) to repertoire study, and/or audition
preparation.
Comfort with your own voice is
invaluable and can help you to increase your musical
improv game, wow your friends at the next karaoke
outing, or become a more confident public speaker. Like
improv training, voice study benefits so many other
things.
If you know that you are interested
in taking voice lessons, or if you're curious and want
to give them a try, please feel free to contact Sarah at
sarahmcclean@earthlink.net.
Beginners and children are welcome.
Budding actors and artists, check out Ahtspot, www.ahtspot.com, the place for actors
and artists in New England. Ahtspot is an online
community that promotes improved access to the arts,
networking across state borders, and expanding creative
opportunities. They provide an array of services whether
you are an artist trying to promote your work, or a
supporter of the arts searching for happenings in New
England.
Ahctors & Ahtists, check out
Ahtspot!

to intermediate improv players who practice on Sundays
near MIT. Everyone is invited come and play (and even
bring a friend!). We are players with a basic
understanding of improv and/or acting experience. For

or go to www.yapgroup.com
From February 22-25, college improv troupes from
across the Boston area will compete for this year’s
Comedy Beanpot. ImprovBoston is proud to host this
annual intercollegiate laugh riot!
For February we interview Sarah McClean,
performer with ImprovBoston's Family Show as well as
singer extraordinaire. Sarah is a trained opera singer
who also teaches singing, so let's find out how her
musical background influences her improv and if improv
influences her teaching!
